SUMMARY:Free Software and the Anti-Globalization Movement
DESCRIPTION:
In May of 2003 I was invited to give a presentation at a conference held at the Centre de Cultura Contemporania de Barcelona <a href=\\"http\://www.cccb.org/\\" title=\\"http\://www.cccb.org/\\">http\://www.cccb.org/ on the topic of the politics of technology and the opensource/free software movement.
It was an amazing and unique experience. I was speaking in marble pillared lecture hall\, with simultaneous translation into earpeices people were wearing -- people everywhere in the room were smoking hashish as I spoke. Sort of felt like the UN on dope.

The largest newspaper of Spain\, El Pais\, called my lecture \\"incendiary and well received\\".
